An Ode to our childhood

Poem- cherish the times

The times go by so fast

You don’t even notice

One always thinks they will last

But that’s just how we focus

You pick up the pencil

And the world is in your hands

You put it down on the paper

And anything can land

The colors, patterns, shapes and the sizes

They all come so easily

To draw, sing, bake and the dances

They all seem so measly

But that was just the innocence of a child

Singing “Mr. Macaroni riding on a bicycle”

There was not much thought put

No way its “Mr. Mark Anthony riding on a bicycle”

Oh what I would give to get that back

To be brave and creative to do anything.

Little one, the code to life; don’t try to crack

The child you are, hold on to that very thing

Every dream of yours is so precious

I would hate to see you waste it

You have to strive for what is yours

So that at the end you claim it.
